Kellyanne Boyce PhD
BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences, MSc Molecular Parasitology
Educated in the Biological Sciences, Kellyanne’s research career has focused on parasites and disease transmission. Kellyanne has published many peer-reviewed scientific articles, and has more recently lectured undergraduate microbiology for a UK university. She was also the founder of a new parasite species, which is now housed at the Natural History Museum in London, UK. With more than 10 years experience working in the airline industry, Kellyanne has visited more than 30 countries on five continents and has experienced first-hand the implications of lacking travel health awareness, having fallen victim to the clutches of a nasty water-borne parasite herself.

Tom Reynolds
FdSc Paramedic Science
Tom brings a wealth of knowledge with 23 years’ experience in the NHS and Private Ambulance Sectors and over 25 years as a Combat Medical Technician in the Army Reserves. Tom has also worked as a Trainer teaching First Aid and FREC courses, and has recently worked as a Flight Paramedic on Medical Escort duties travelling to worldwide destinations, whilst also testing and vaccinating the UK against COVID-19. Tom has always loved to travel and over the years has travelled throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australasia with nothing more than a backpack and a smile! As a keen scuba diver, Tom has dived in many exotic locations throughout the world including the Great Barrier Reef, Belize, the Red Sea plus many more!

Dr Vanessa Machin
BSc (Hons), AKC, MBBS, FRCS, FRCEM, FFFLM, DipFMSA, DMJ (Clinical) LLM
Vanessa brings a wealth of experience in emergency medicine, forensics, flight medicine and medical law to our team. Having been a doctor for over 30 years, Vanessa has been a cardiothoracic surgeon, a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, a Senior Forensic Medical Expert for the Metropolitan Police Service and most recently, the Medical Director of a repatriation company. She also holds a master’s degree in medical law and is the author of a medicolegal pocketbook. Vanessa is also a keen traveller and despite having so much medical knowledge, she is the proud survivor of not one, but two potentially fatal tropical diseases! From both a professional and personal perspective, Vanessa cannot highlight enough, just how important it is to understand the risks and take all necessary precautions to stay safe and well while travelling.

Enthusiastic about travel, Simon has travelled to most continents, with some highlights featuring the wild Savannah of Kenya, exploring the sights of Eastern Europe, and snorkelling with turtles in Mexico.
